| Safety Policy | |||||||||
It is the policy of M. J. Conroy to comply with the health and safety at work act 2005, the safety, health and welfare at work (construction) regulations 2006 and the general application regulations 1993 and to ensue, so far as is reasonably practicable, the safety, health and welfare of all employees whilst at work and to provide such information, training and supervision needed for this purpose. It is the policy of the firm to protect, so far as is reasonably practicable, persons not employed by this company who may be affected by our activities. All employees have a responsibility to co-operate with supervisors and managers to achieve a healthy and safe work place and to take reasonable care of themselves and others. It is the policy of the company to consult with all staff and employees on matters of health and safety and employees are encouraged to comply with their duties under the 2005 act to notify the company management of identified hazards in the work place. The allocation of duties for safety matters and particular arrangements to implement policy are set out in the company safety statement. The policy will be kept up to date particularly as the business changes in nature and size. To ensure this, the policy and the way in which it is operated will be reviewed as required.

The company is also registered with Safe-T-Cert, the independent health and safety management certification system developed by the Construction Industry Federation in the Republic of Ireland and the Construction Employers Federation in Northern Ireland. Safe-T-Cert takes account of 'best practice' guidelines in respect of health and safety in the construction industry. Only companies that have gone through a detailed certification process and meet the minimum criteria will receive certification.
